Items deemed to be against the DIC completely are usually confiscated on the spot. Other items may also be confiscated permanently during a hearing. This is not the same as items being confiscated as evidence, although some of them may be used as evidence in a hearing first. These items are not returned to the person they were taken from, instead they are either destroyed, sold, or given to charity.
